By Pervinder Johar, CEO, Blume Global
The supply chain industry has gone through significant change over the past several decades and I’m so glad to have experienced much of it firsthand. The growth of networks across the US, the sheer volume of data, and technologies like blockchain and IoT, all in the name of efficiency.
2019 marks the 25th anniversary of Blume Global, which was founded in 1994 as REZ-1. I am happy to celebrate this milestone within an industry that has gone through such transformation. From our first work developing the infrastructure for interline railroad container programs to the AI-powered solutions that will optimize tomorrows’ logistics, to becoming an independent company within the Apollo Funds’ portfolio and a strategic partner with DCLI, it has been an incredible journey. But I can’t wait to see what’s next. In just the last 2 years logistics and transportation have been disrupted and transformed by technology, and we are at the forefront of this exciting time. We have accelerated our innovation in areas like the development of autonomous trucks, guaranteed arrival times, and working with drones and machines on same day delivery.
I would like to extend a sincere thank you to our employees, customers and partners. Your support and belief in the Blume Global vision has been tremendous and is the reason the company is what it is today. Our commitment to you is unchanged. As we enter into the next quarter century of the supply chain industry we will continue to provide innovative solutions that will further transform the supply chain as we know it.
